New 2019 Ford F-150 - Features
A Tough Performance To Follow
The competition isn't catching up to the Ford F-150 anytime soon - and may never. That's because the F-150 sets the high standards for light-duty full-size pickups with its lightweight, high-strength military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and bed. This is not aluminum in the household sense, but heat-treated and hardened aluminum alloy - the same high-grade 6000 series used in military and industrial applications. The results? Best-in-class payload and towing. A mighty hard performance to follow.
High-Strength, Military-Grade, Aluminum-Alloy Body
The Ford F-150 has the only high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body in its class. A heat-treating process is used to harden the aluminum alloy. Working with aluminum alloy allows an increase in gauge (or thickness) where needed to achieve strength without increasing weight. The lighter aluminum-alloy body and bed produce a higher power-to-weight ratio - plus maximum payload and tow ratings that are best in class. Yet another benefit - resistance to dents.
Fully Boxed High-Strength Steel Frame
The fully boxed frame is made of more high-strength steel (up to 78 percent) and larger cross sections than the previous-generation frame. And while stronger and more rigid, this frame is also lighter by up to 60 lbs. because many of the components are fabricated using the state-of-the-art roll-forming process that minimizes weight.
Hard-Working, Smart Pickup Box
F-150 offers not only best-in-class payload but also a pickup bed that can be equipped to make work easier and maximize productivity. Available features include: Flexible, configurable BoxLink™ system. LED box lights. Stowable loading ramps. Integrated tailgate step with lift assist. Remote tailgate release (lock or unlock and lower the tailgate). Class-exclusive deployable box side steps available on all cab configurations, including the SuperCrew® with 5.5-ft. pickup box. Heavy-Duty Payload Package.
Shifting into four-wheel drive is as easy as turning a dial with the electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESOF) system. ESOF lets you choose two four-wheel-drive modes (4x4 low or high) as well as two-wheel drive. LARIAT, King Ranch® , Limited, Platinum and Raptor models also include automatic 4WD mode. The FX4 Off-Road Package includes electronic-locking rear differential (locks the rear axle completely for enhanced traction at both wheels), Hill Descent Control™, off-road tuned shock absorbers, skid plates, and "FX4 Off-Road" decal. Plus, the available 360-degree camera with split-view display is helpful when you're maneuvering in tight spaces and on off-road trails.
Extreme Off-Road Handling
Ford engineers went all out to enable the F-150 Raptor to take on punishing terrain that would be off-limits for a conventional 4-wheeler. They chose class-exclusive FOX live valve monotube shocks with internal bypass technology featuring an electronic solenoid valve that provides continuously variable compression damping. The Torque-On-Demand® transfer case automatically applies torque with fast responsiveness to the front or rear. The electronic-locking rear differential, when engaged, locks the axle for a firmer grip at both wheels. And the Raptor rides on BFGoodrich® All Terrain KO2 Tires. Available beadlock-capable wheels that let you air down the tires for enhanced traction.
Class-exclusive Fox Live Valve Monotube Shocks
The F-150 Raptor is outfitted with class-exclusive FOX Live Valve monotube shocks featuring internal bypass technology to deliver superior control and maximize your off-road experience. These monotube shocks have an electronic solenoid valve engineered to provide continuously variable compression damping, so they can automatically adjust to the constantly changing conditions of demanding off-road terrain.
Technology For Off-Road Handling
The F-150 Raptor employs advanced technology to help provide the degree of control required for extreme off-road travel. Its Terrain Management System™ offers seven selectable modes (Normal, Sport, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Deep Snow/Sand, Baja, and Rock Crawl). And now, the Raptor adds new Trail Control™ to its already impressive suite of tech features. Trail Control is a cruise control system for off-road terrain. You set the speed from 1 to 20 mph and the system manages acceleration and braking, sending torque and stopping force to individual wheels as needed, so you can focus on steering over the demanding terrain.
New 2019 Ford F-150 - Power
Six-engine Lineup Including Turbo Diesel
F-150 offers a six-engine lineup covering three configurations: naturally aspirated V6 and V8 gas powerplants with advanced twin-independent variable cam timing, turbocharged and direct-injected gas EcoBoost® V6 engines, and 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel. Whether you drive an F-150 for work or recreation, there's an engine delivering the performance that's just right for you.
2.7l Turbocharged EcoBoost®
How can an engine displacing just 2.7 liters deliver a robust 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque? Engineer it with the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder, dual overhead cam design with variable intake/exhaust cam timing, plus twin intercooled turbochargers for on-demand power. And the 2.7L EcoBoost® with 10-speed transmission is strong. Its upper block and cylinders are made of the same high-strength compacted graphite iron used in the Super Duty® 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel.
The 3.5L EcoBoost® with 10-speed transmission boasts impressive power ratings of 375 horsepower and best-in-class 470 lb.-ft. of torque, beating out all gas and diesel competitors. This engine delivers the F-150 best-in-class tow rating too. Features include the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder - one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder - to increase performance. Plus twin intercooled turbos for on-demand power with virtually no lag.
High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost®
The Baja-bred F-150 Raptor is perfectly at home on a typical paved road. But going from mild to wild on the most unforgiving terrain - now we're in territory where the Raptor excels with its extraordinary capability, beginning with raw power. Under the unique Raptor hood is the 24-valve, 3.5L twin-turbo HO EcoBoost® with Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system and 10-speed automatic, generating a massive best-in-class 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. And now, this high-output EcoBoost is the standard engine for luxury travel in the top-of-the-line F-150 Limited.
3.3L Ti-VCT V6
The 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 delivers responsive performance with 290 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. The twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) opens/closes the valves in precise duration to suit operating conditions, so power output is optimized at every point across the performance band. The 3.3L also has the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder - one mounted in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder. The 6-speed automatic transmission has three selectable modes to suit the driving condition: Normal, Tow-Haul, and Sport.
5.0L Ti-VCT V8
This legendary Ford V8 with 10-speed transmission delivers all the muscle you need plus best-in-class payload. Experience robust 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, courtesy of twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT), as well as the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder - one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder - to increase power and efficiency. The 5.0L offers a CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package for conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane autogas. A Snow Plow Prep Package is also available.
3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel
How does class leading in every diesel category sound? 11,400 lbs. towing - great news if you tow a lot for work or recreation; 1,940 lbs. payload; 250 horsepower at 3,250 rpm and 440 lb.-ft. of torque at just 1,750 rpm. Plus class-leading EPA-estimated 30 highway mpg fuel economy to go with all that muscle.
10-Speed Automatic Transmission
F-150 EcoBoost®, V8 and diesel engines deliver their power through an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. Compared with the 6-speed, the 10-speed delivers improved overall performance, with enhanced acceleration at the low and mid ranges of the power band. Features include optimized wide-span gear spacing coupled with drag-reduction actions plus three overdrive gears. What's more, you can choose from selectable modes: Normal, Tow-Haul, Snow-Wet, EcoSelect, and Sport.
New 2019 Ford F-150 - Capability
Best-In-Class Capability For Work Or Play
The Ford F-150 makes tough tasks look easy, whether you're working on the job or heading out on a weekend of recreation. F-150 outperforms every other truck in its class when hauling cargo in the bed or towing a trailer. F-150 is ahead when it comes to making your life easy as well, with features available on no other half-ton pickup. Among them: the innovative available Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ and deployable box side steps. It's no wonder, when it comes to capability and utility, the competition is always in a scramble to follow the leader, the Ford F-150.
The F-150 can tow more than any other pickup in its class, gas or diesel. The available second-generation 3.5L EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6, at 375 horsepower and top-rated 470 lb.-ft. of torque, has the best-in-class conventional tow rating of 13,200 lbs. And the 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel, rated at 250 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque, is also best in class in towing at 11,400 lbs.
Reducing weight is an effective way to increase payload. And that's a huge benefit of the F-150 body and bed built of lightweight and high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy. What results is a best-in-class payload rating in F-150 models powered by the legendary Ford 5.0L V8. The 5.0L features the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder - one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder - to improve power and efficiency. Impressive power ratings are 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

360-Degree Camera With Split-View Display
You'll be more aware of your surroundings with the 360-Degree Camera with Split-View Display on the 2019 Ford F-150, which provides you with a bird's-eye view of the area around your truck. This feature uses four cameras: one in the grille, one on the tailgate and one under each sideview mirror. This system allows you to see all sides of your F-150 by stitching the four images together to create a comprehensive view of your truck's surroundings. It also includes a dynamic hitch assist feature that provides a sight line to help you direct your hitch ball to your trailer tongue.
Adaptive Cruise Control With Stop-and-go
When you're embarking on a long, steady journey with your Ford F-150, available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop-and-Go can help keep you relaxed while making your drive a little easier. ACC with Stop-and-Go lets you set a cruising speed and distance from the vehicle ahead. When activated, the system automatically accelerates and brakes your truck while maintaining your preset distance. As the vehicle in front of you slows down, you'll slow down too - automatically. Thanks to the feature's stop-and-go technology, ACC can bring your Ford F-150 to a complete halt in stopped traffic and resume your set speed as traffic begins to move, with little to no effort on your part.
Blis® (Blind Spot Information System) With Trailer Coverage
Navigating a busy freeway or changing lanes can be tense, and even more so if your F-150 is also towing a trailer or carrying important cargo. Available BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage on the 2019 Ford F-150 can help ease your lane-change worries even with a trailer in tow. BLIS with Trailer Coverage uses radar on both sides of your truck to detect vehicles you may not be able to see. BLIS then signals you in the corresponding sideview mirror when a vehicle is detected in a blind spot - and provides coverage for not just the truck you're driving but also the trailer you're towing as well.
Pre-Collision Assist With Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
The 2019 Ford F-150 can help you react to the unexpected. Though we should all drive defensively, we can't prepare for every pedestrian or vehicle we might encounter. The Ford F-150 offers Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology features including Pre-Collision Assist to help you in such situations. First, Pre-Collision Assist with AEB scans the road ahead. When a potential collision is detected, you'll get a visual warning as well as an audible alert. Your brakes will also precharge and increase sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you engage them. If a collision becomes imminent and you don't take corrective measures, the brakes can apply automatically.
